Happy Birthday to ME!

In honour of my 40th birthday, my BFF Ann Jobes and I attended a crop at my Favourite scrapbook store, Two Scrapbook Friends. I created a few birthday pages that night and this one of Adriane at her 5th birthday is my favourite of the bunch. You can check out some of my other creations on their Gallery at http://www.twoscrapbookfriends.com/photopost.php. There are so many creative posters there and lots of inspiring challenges. Scrapbooking really WAS the best way to spend my birthday! Thanks to Ann, Shelby and Joanne who made it a special night!

So glad that I can do what I love! Hope you are too!

Two Scrapbook Friends has a new Design Team member..and it's ME!

Well ,I have to say how excited I am to be representing my favourite store! Two Scrapbook Friends in Waterloo is run by two of the most fabulous women, Joanne Burton and Carolyn Wolff. They posted a design team call and with the encouragement of my BFF Ann Jobes (see Inkspiration to get to know her), I applied. Imagine my surprise and thrill when I opened my email to see their invitiation to join their team of creative designers beginning January 1, 2010.
This month we are working with a Sassafrass line that is sure to provide lots of creative mojo for me. Be sure to go online to their Gallery and forum to meet the rest of the team and to see what we will come up with in the New Year.

Until then, here is a a Fall page I made of my daughter Adriane on Thanksgiving weekend (notice there is no snow on the ground?)

Wishing you get to do what you love everyday!

Let It Snow!

I was inspired by a posting at Moxie Fab World http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/11/tuesday-trigger-its-snowing-gingerbread.html to put a snow flake on this card I make for our card make and swap night tomorrow. Everything is old Stampin up! stock I had lying around except for the snowflake chipboard, white paint, bling and stickles.
What inspired you today?

Hope your doing what you love today!

My Heart Belongs to You

Before leaving for Florida a friend inspired me to create some layouts (this one is a particular favourite) for a design team application. I had these lovely photos from our photo shoot with Angela Smith from Waterloo. and I wanted to be sure to give it the attention it deserved. (You can see more of her astounding art at http://www.angelasmith.ca/wp/.)  I used Bo Bunny's Abbey Road line of patterned paper, rub-ons and brads. Also Bazzill cardstock and flowers. The font is cut with my Silohuette and adhered using Xyron Sticker maker. A Special mention to my friend Ann Jobes at Inkspiration blog for helping get it all just right.
Hope it inspires you! If you have done a special layout with some one of a kind photos please send me a link so I can see and send you love!

Be sure to use your gifts today to do something wonderful for someone you love.

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety-Jig!

We are back from the beautiful holiday world of Walt Disney World in Florida. The weather was warm in the sunshine-y afternoons and cool in the mornings and evenings. Even though we have been to Walt Disney World many times, we often find new things to do and see. A few new favourites of mine were the Animation Courtyard and the Backlot Tour at Hollywood Studios. At the Animation Courtyard we were able meet with a real Disney Animator and draw Piglet on our first visit and Donald Duck on our second visit. My efforts with Piglet are below and it leave lots to be desired. I was proud of our efforts and will be hanging those up in our family gallery at home.
For those of you unfamiliar with this hidden gem, The Backlot Tour involved a quick stunt show and then a tram ride around some of the scenery construction and costuming areas behind the scenes. We also saw some cool props like the rainbow coloured Chicken Coup Hannah Montana paints in The Hannah Montana Movie and Herbie The Love Bug. Such an interesting tour and something we had never done. We plan on making this a regualr haunt on every visit! We also ate at the Backlot Express which was such an interestingly decorated 'warehouse' and served such wonderful things like the Angus Burger with avocado, lettuce, tomato and pepperjack cheese. YUMMY!

We were also very blessed to see my Mom and Dad and they enjoyed a day at EPCOT with us. We really enjoyed seeing everything through their eyes and hope they will come over to Orlando next fall and stay at our resort and see more of what WDW has to offer.

Finally, we were fortunate enough to in a room right next to my dear friends Carey, Jordyn, Jacob and their Grandma Dianne. We were able to ride a few rides with them and enjoy their company too. We also met up with my old friend Lisa and her kids, Raine and Brawn as well as meet their friends,Janice and CJ Moore. Certainly shows you that Disney makes for the best reunions! (Thanks to my dearest hubby for taking this group shot! He was the only adult male in our group..)

Well, I am off to scrapbook a bit of Disney Magic and I promise to post some of those pages when I can. So, as they like to say in WDW: "Have a magical day!" and  keep on doing what you love!

Let's Toast!

I admit it. I am a blogging newbie. In fact, I have only been reading blogs for a very short time. I have been inspired by these blogs and thought I'd start my own. (I mean who ISN'T blogging, right?)  I am looking forward to sharing more about myself and the things I love but mostly, this will be a spot where I can share about the fabulous world of scrapbooking and photography.

So, I won't promise not to talk about other things (Disney, my family, my BFF's etc)  when the mood strikes me but I do promise it'll be interesting!

So let's toast to new beginnings and to something else I really love..talking!

Wishing for you to do something YOU love everyday,
Christa
